DK defeats Newbee to become ECL 2014 champion
Team DK has another championship title under its belt following its win over Team Newbee in the Dota 2 eSports Champions League 2014.
DK claimed the series with a 2-1 win, despite Newbee’s one game advantage coming into the grand final. Team DK walked away with ¥60,000 ($9,660) while second and third placers, Newbee and Invictus Gaming (iG) received ¥30,000 ($4,830) and ¥10,000 ($1,600) respectively.
One of the favorites to take The International 2014 (TI4), DK’s performance has been consistent since its flawless dominance at Starladder IX. The team recently finished second in both The Summit and the WPC-ACE, losing to American team Evil Geniuses and iG respectively.
